Astro Forecast for the Upcoming Lunation
Hey Team,
This will be a play-by-play forecast for the whole upcoming lunation, which starts on Monday around Noon. I’ll be traveling from to the UK for the Leadership in Transformation forum at Ruskin Mill, then to the country of Georgia for the Youth Section conference there, and I probably won’t have a lot of time for writing. I may get some time in on another non-forecast article, but I want to make sure that I get this out ahead of time, too. Plus, schedules often extend further out and have more flexibility in the summer, so hopefully this is useful in planning a beautiful summer and navigating its tricky portions.
And there will be some tricky portions. Most notably, the rest of the summer will feature a Venus retrograde in Leo, which should usher a change in our tastes, relationships, and self-expression. In this situation, which starts on July 22nd, Venus will go invisible behind the Sun - as such, there might be a lot of work happening behind the scenes, in the underworld, in limbo. Here, Venus is stripping away that which used to constitute her - everything she loves now comes up for questioning: do I really love this? If, after the end of her 40 day period (on Sept 3rd), you have permission to dump things off in the underworld and create space for something new. While down there, we can also encounter that which we have previously discarded or weren’t ready for - perhaps something wasn’t appropriate at the time, but is now starting to get ripe. Regardless, we want to work with this process - resisting it can bring melodrama. More on the precise play-by-play of the Venus Rx below!
It’s also worth mentioning that the Nodal Axis has also shifted, with the North Node moving into Aries and the South Node into Libra, which is where they’ll be for the next year and a half. This depicts the change-over of eclipses into these signs, but we’ve actually already had an Aries eclipse (April 19/20), and will still have another partial Scorpio-Taurus eclipse on October 28th of this year. Regardless, this shift into the Aries-Libra axis highlights the back and forth of relationship and independence, self and Other, as having karmic or evolutionary importance. There might be depths of history in relationship to unpack and sort through, as well as an urge towards more independence, freedom, and self-assertion that will need to be healthily navigated. All of this will charge this Venus retrograde with a bit more spice and mystery.
The New Moon will happen at 24 degrees Cancer on Monday, the Chandra symbol for which is “a flock of penguins on an icy beach.”
