Astrology Forecast June 18 - July 2
The Sun into Cancer, a hectic couple of squares to Uranus, and some Mercurial magic
Happy New Moon, folks!
I’ve been enjoying being in the mode of constant writing the last couple of weeks, as the Sun has been in Gemini and Mercury has joined in as well, picking up speed in the same clip - suddenly ideas that have been gestating for a while are finding containers for further growth. This is also a part of how I’m experiencing the Chandra Symbol for this new moon, which is: Much food stored in a cool cave. Especially alongside Jupiter’s position in Taurus next to the North Node, there’s some spirit I appreciate of storing all the multiplicity, letting potentials ripen in darkness, and figuring out a way to exit the overwhelm of everything everywhere all at once and have things find their right place and time in the future. A couple of lines from Ellias Lonsdale’s commentary on this image are particularly striking to me:
Turning yourself into a wide open, vastly impressionable, fluent, and flexible front line participant, but keeping on ice the most astounding array of greater gifts--the ones that are too much for this world now. And being quite inwardly assured that sooner or later you can and will draw upon and tap into the greater frequencies of awareness.
This feels like this nicely transitions into the spirit of Cancer season. There’s a process of congealing, condensing, cohering, and integrating, which isn’t rejecting the multiplicity, but providing a central structure for it - perhaps just our warm inner light, which can hold everything in our peripheral awareness. I love Steiner’s ‘Soul Mood’ for Cancer.
Funny enough, candle meditation has been one of my favorite practices over the last few weeks - something simple and magical, easy yet profound, heart-warming but deepening my mental capacities.
Saturn’s station retrograde, which happened Saturday the 17th, also reinforces this theme, but perhaps from a more conscientious space or even one that requires a bit more trimming and pruning. In Pisces, Saturn is asking us about our heart’s commitments, and the core rhythms of our life which deepen us into more realness and integrity. This could look like focusing more deeply on a couple of spiritual studies or practices or renewed conviction to provide safeguards for your consciousness not to get blurred or overwhelmed. Likewise, this Piscean awareness might reflect back on the Saturnian world of hard lines and enduring structures, asking you to clarify some and dissolve others. Do your schedule and daily rhythm need reworking, or is an external commitment just not fitting right in your soul? Saturn will be retrograde until November 4th, so that could be a helpful time frame upon which you might conceive making these changes or undertaking these simplifications. As I mentioned in my last forecast, at the moment Saturn is also in a sextile with Jupiter, so this process needn’t be entirely heavy or serious, but also happen alongside pursuits of slow growth or a gentle dedication to a rich quality of experience. That’s also to say that we ought to expect Jupiterian gifts through the rest of the summer (or even year) to develop alongside dedication and focus.
Finally, y’all, as you can see below, it’s now time to start making these forecasts only available for paid subscribers. I have dropped the price to $5/mo or $50/year, which I hope makes supporting this feel easier. I love doing these, but as a craft, it will be hard to sustain without regular financial support. I’ll likely still make all of my theoretical musings freely available (although I’m not sure), and you will still be able to find the shorter-term forecasts for the following 2-3 days for each moon change on my Instagram. Of course, you’re also always to reach out for a reading in order to support me.
